This is my recommended approach for protecting your Azure services. Enabling Azure Defender Azure Defender includes Azure Defender for SQL. When you enable Azure Defender for SQL, it automatically provisions some resources for you. This will insert a default unique value to the Id column. In Azure SQL Databases, navigate to the Security Center section. When inserting the records, we simply have to specify “default” as value for the first column. Please verify the ORAHOMEPATH/dbs/sgadef. This will ensure that whenever a new record is inserted in the EngStudents1 table, by default, the NEWID() function generates a unique value for the Id column. To resolve this i trie below steps and succesfully created the schema. To set a default value for the column we will use the default keyword and set the default value as the value returned by the ‘NEWID()’ function. Assuming Data Guard Broker is well configured. Right-click on the SQL Server (SIXBITDBSERVER) and select Properties. Look for 'SQL Server (SIXBITDBSERVER)' in the list. Set the protection mode to MaxAvailability. From the search box under Windows Start in Vista or Windows 7, or from StartRun in Windows XP, enter 'services.msc' to show the list of services running on your computer. Set FastStartFailoverTarget on a database which is the target database to be switched to play the primary role after a failover. Click the arrow next to the Open button and then click Open Read-Only to open the database for read-only access so that you can view but not edit it. The other configurations that are not required but they might make your fast-start failover go smoothly. Let’s create a table EngStudents1 within the EngDB but this time we change the data type of the Id column from INT to UNIQUEIDENTIFIER. Click Open to open the database for shared access in a multi-user environment so that you and other users can read and write to the database. Now, let’s see how GUID can be used to solve this issue This causes the violation of primary key constraint for the Students table. You can see that students Shane and Sally both have Ids of 1 while Jonny and Edward both have Ids of 2. This is when we need to use the GUID data type.
